The billing office at The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, PA is a highly trained and experienced staff specialized in Dermatological billing. These employees are here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have in regards to your account. Feel free to contact them at (919) 782-2152 option #3.

Please remember your insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. Prior to scheduling an appointment with one of our Board Certified Dermatologists it is suggested you contact your carrier to verify coverage, your co-pay/deductible/co-insurance amount and any restrictions your insurance company may have.

It is our policy to collect payment for services at the time of service if you are not a subscriber of the insurance companies that have contracted with our clinic. If you are a member of one of our participating insurance companies we require you to present your insurance card at the time of service. If you are unable to provide this, we may ask for payment in full until the card can be presented. We will file your insurance claim with any insurance company that has contracted with us. Your insurance company expects us to collect your co-pay/ deductible or co-insurance that may be due for the services. These payments will be collected prior to services being provided. If you do not have these payments available at the time of check-in we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment. For your convenience we accept personal local checks (with a valid identification card), cash, and credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express).

If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please contact our office to do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Missed appointment fees will be assessed as follows: for missed office visits, the "no-show" fee is $50; for missed surgery appointments, the "no-show" fee is $150.

If your health plan requires a referral or authorization for specialty services, please have your primary care physician fax this to us (919-782-7929) before your scheduled appointment; if a referral is required and not in our office at the time of your appointment, you may either (1) pay for your services at the time of service, or (2) change your appointment to a later date so you may obtain the referral/authorization.

Prescription refill requests often require an office visit before we can fill the refill request; this is to ensure your safety. Should you desire a prescription refill, please have your pharmacist fax the request to us (919-782-7929).

Cosmetic Procedures

Most cosmetic procedures are not a covered service with your insurance company unless medically necessary. This will make you solely responsible for the charges. It is the policy of The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center to require a $75.00 deposit when you schedule your cosmetic procedure. If you contact our office and cancel your appointment 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment we will refund your deposit. Once the procedure is completed your deposit will be credited towards the balance of the charges.
